Hi, I'm Sarah!
And here we are, at my little store where you can find wrapping paper that makes your heart sing.
Every design is hand painted by me, inspired by stars and plants and color and light.
Why I started painting
When I was 11, I noticed someone very dear to me wrapped their gifts with an extraordinary amount of love and care. A sprig of lavender in the bow, the soft vintage ribbon tied around thick, handmade paper, all the colors perfectly matched.
She made gifts into a work of art, and receiving birthday presents from her felt like being enveloped in a bubble of warmth.
One of the gifts she gave me was my first set of watercolor paints, and my favorite thing to paint was flowers. Since then I've painted, drawn, sewn, knitted, collaged and sculpted for years. But I'm always drawn back to color. Six years ago I found some precious paints - the perfect colors that were more vibrant than any of the dull tones we were given in school. I started painting all sorts of patterns and expressions, sometimes they looked like autumn, sometimes a nebula, sometimes a garden.
So many paintings piled up that I started to wrap presents with them. I still remember watching a friend of mine open her gift oh so gently, coaxing the sticky tape off the fold. She then carefully pressed the paper flat, and the next time I was at her house it was in a frame by her desk. Another friend of mine has half her fridge covered with paintings I've gifted her or we've painted together. These dear friends inspired me to share my art with you!
